Track 1. Getting Started

Tour Editor Overview: The Workspace

Learn the layout of the Mango360 tour editor: the scene list, the canvas, the properties panel and the toolbar you use every day.

5 min readLesson 2 of 4

After this lesson you can open the editor and name every part of it: the scene list, the preview canvas, the properties panel and the toolbar. You will also know which changes are saved automatically and which one needs an explicit publish.

The three panes

The editor is split into three panes. The scene list on the left shows every scene of the tour and lets you drag them into a new order. The canvas in the centre displays the selected panorama with its hotspots. The properties panel on the right shows the settings of whatever is selected.

  • Scene list — thumbnails, ordering, folders and search by name.
  • Canvas — the panorama preview with draggable hotspot markers.
  • Properties panel — the settings of the selected object.
  • Toolbar — add, undo, redo, autosave state and the Publish button.

Every change you make in the editor is written to the project automatically, but autosave does not publish. The public link keeps serving the last published version until you publish again.

Move around the project

  1. Press the arrow keys to jump between scenes of the list.
  2. Press Delete to remove the selected hotspot; the editor asks for confirmation.
  3. Press Ctrl or Cmd with Z to undo the last action, and add Shift to redo it.
  4. Press Escape to close a dialog without saving its changes.

Draft and published

The label at the top of the editor shows Draft while you work and Published after a release. Both states coexist: you can keep editing a published tour while the public link stays on the released version. Check the status of each scene in the list before you publish.
