Track 6. Advanced Workflows

Build a Multilingual Tour

Translate a tour into several languages, keep the scenes in sync and let each visitor choose their own interface language.

6 min readLesson 1 of 4

You will create a second language for a tour, add translated titles and info hotspots and understand how the language of the interface and the language of the content are chosen for each visitor.

Add a language

Open the Languages section of the project and add the language you need. The editor switches into that language, and every scene, hotspot and form gets a translation slot. The original language stays the source of truth, so a later change there becomes the fallback for the others.

  1. Open Languages and add the new language.
  2. Translate the scene titles and the info hotspots.
  3. Review the start scene and the messages of the form.
  4. Publish to make the new language live.

How the language is chosen

The interface follows the language parameter of the link, then the language of the browser, then the default language of the tour. A visitor who opens the tour in a French browser sees the French interface and, when a translation exists, the French content.

The lang parameter of the link wins over everything else. Use it in a QR code or in an embedded iframe when the content language must be fixed, for example Russian for a Russian-speaking audience.

Keep the translations in sync

Scenes are shared between languages, so adding a new scene affects every language at once. Translate the new content and publish again. If a translation is missing, the platform falls back to the source language instead of hiding the scene.
